MASTERCLASS by an ART EXPERT: the new small-group exclusive experiences by FLORENCETOWN.

Learn and capture the essence of artistic talent while enjoying the privileges of a truly exclusive new Florencetown experience: priority fast-track early morning access to the Accademia Gallery, home to Michelangelo's awe-inspiring David, for a Small-Group Masterclass with an Art Expert!

You will enter the Accademia Gallery of Florence with your experienced guide, a qualified art expert, with skip-the-line tickets early in the morning, the only time of the day when the halls and corridors are not full of noisy, throbbing crowds. Enjoy the rare privilege and exclusivity of being one of a small group, among the very first to enter in the morning. This advantage will allow you to better observe and appreciate some of Michelangelo's extraordinary masterpieces, in particular his sculpture of David, one of the greatest works of art of all time and a world-acclaimed icon of the Renaissance.

Experience true enlightenment thanks to the enriching presentation and personal attention of the professional guide! Carved from a single block of far-from-perfect Carrara marble when Michelangelo was only in his twenties the sculpture is truly impressive. Enjoy the chance to learn all this, and much more... David will seem to come to life before your eyes! The massive statue - over 5.17 meters (17 ft) tall - represents the biblical David. You will notice how it perfectly depicts the young hero's limbs, muscles, veins etc.. and find out that when it was finished, in 1504, it was placed at the entrance of Palazzo Vecchio to be admired by the people as an inspiring symbol of the strength and independence of the Florentines. In addition to the David your guide will also lead you to appreciate Michelangelo's striking Prisoners and St.Matthew, and other remarkable works of art also hosted in the Accademia: religious paintings, among which superb gold-ground paintings, by major artists from the 13th to the 17th century, sculptures in plaster by 19th-century masters, and more.
